About Dr. Seth Greenberg

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Dr. G began his musical studies on the violin at four years old.

For his twelfth birthday, his parents rented him guitar and set up lessons with his first guitar teacher, Mark Burkert.

By 16, he was performing professionally and studying with his two musical mentors, famed jazz guitarist Jimmy Bruno and jazz pianist Jimmy Amadie.

Several years after completing his BA in jazz guitar performance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, he moved to Claremont, California to pursue graduate degrees at the Claremont Graduate University. At CGU, he received an MA in classical guitar performance and a PhD in musicology.

Apart from writing books, Dr. G teaches guitarists and other instrumentalists across the world. He continues to perform professionally primarily as a solo guitarist.
